CRYING OUT TO GOD
TEXT: Job 35 vs 9-13
When people are oppressed, they groan;
they cry for someone to save them.
10 But they don't turn to God, their Creator,
who gives them hope in their darkest hours.
11 They don't turn to God, who makes us wise,
wiser than any animal or bird.
12 They cry for help, but God doesn't answer,
for they are proud and evil.
13 It is useless for them to cry out;
Almighty God does not see or hear them.
they cry for someone to save them.
10 But they don't turn to God, their Creator,
who gives them hope in their darkest hours.
11 They don't turn to God, who makes us wise,
wiser than any animal or bird.
12 They cry for help, but God doesn't answer,
for they are proud and evil.
13 It is useless for them to cry out;
Almighty God does not see or hear them.
Most times, people who are oppressed or passing through difficult situations groans and complain. Hardly will you find them crying to God in prayers but rather, they make their complains to men. No man can deliver us from oppression or difficulties, only God can. Putting our trust in man will only get us disappointed as often times, they will fail us.
I also want us to know that the prayers of the proud and evil doers are abomination to the Lord (Proverbs 15:8, Proverbs 28:9). We must be sure that we are free from all evil deeds when crying to God because His ears are shut to the prayers of sinners. If you are still guilty of sin, I encourage you today to confess that sin to God and ask Him to forgive you and accept you as His own.
